Company Auditions

At the end of each season Company Auditions are held for all students. Each Company member must re-audition whether they plan to stay in the same class, move up or move to another Company. The selection of the Company slot is a the discreation of the Audition Board.

As a member of a RISPA Company, students are required to fulfill their obligation as outlined in this information. If obligation and commitments are not fully met, students can be excluded from Company performances at the discreation of RISPA Management.

Items needed to audition:

  • all required dance shoes
  • signed permission form
  • self-addressed, stamped, #10 letter-size envelope for audition results
  • $10 audition fee for each company applied for (checks made payable to RISPA)

Company Requirements

Summer Intensive Workship: Attendance at RISPA Company Intensive Workshop. Company members are required  to attend one or both workshops.

2009 Workshops:

Session 1: June 8-12, 2009
Session 2: July 20-24, 2009
Cost: $180 per session / $250 for both

Each Friday following the workshop, there will be a mandatory meeting for the parents to meet each other and sign-up for volunteer opportunities. The Company Photo shoot will also take place during this time for new members and those that would like to update their Company headshot.

Tuition: Company fees in addition to class tuition are due in 10-monthly installments.

Fee Structure:

$153.00 - One Company
$189.00 - Two Companies
$225.00 - Three Companies
$ 36.00 -  each additional Company


$125.00 - Mini Company
* Mini Company fee includes (1) additional open class per week

Immediately following acceptance into Company, the following is due:

$90.00 deposit for Summer Intensive Workshop, balance due May 1st.
The 10th installment of Company tuition (last month paid first)

Late/NSF fees: Tuition installments are due on the 1st of each month and are considered late after the 10th of each month. A $20 late fee will be charged to your account after the 10th of each month.

A $35 NSF fee will be charged to your account for all returned checks for payments made payable to RISPA.

Photo/Video/Bio: Each Company member is required to have a current head shot and a short bio on file at RISPA. Company head shots, by Jane Dowd are taken during each Summer Intensive workshop on Friday. Head shots by Jane Dowd are $75.00, and only need to be taken if you do not have a current RISPA head shot or which to update your head shot. Head shots are posted on the Company wall. During the year audio, video and photographs are recorded or taken and are used in printed, internet websites and broadcast for promotion or marketing of RISPA.

Rehearsals: Attendance at all Company rehearsals is mandatory. Company members must contact RISPA when rehearsals will be missed. Commitment to rehearsals is very important to the success of the Company program.

Competition

Each Company member is required to attend one convention/competition per season to be determined by the Director.

Sample Competition Information:

Company members will be selected for the opportunity to attend one convention/competition each season.

RISPA had the chance to compete in the 'Access Broadway Competition' this past season and found it to be a great experience, fun and educational. RISPA participants brought home Gold, High Gold and Platinum honors along with scholarships. This is a worthwhile experience for all levels of Company. So that you are aware of the financial commitment, the approximate casts to participate are as follows:

Competition (Late Winter, Early Spring)

Workships (held during competition): $140

Competition Solo entry fee: $75

Competition Group Entry fee: $40 / per category

Each Performer is responsible for their own travel to and from the competition location, lodging and any other expenses incurred during the competition.

*Private lessons are available for RISPA students. A separate fee applies.

Attire/Class Requirements:

Parents please do not purchase dancewear until your child has been accepted into the Company. You will be given style and vendor numbers for anything you might need for that particular Company.

*Each company member MUST have a RISPA t-shirt with their name on it.

*Company members must purchase a RISPA Company Track suit. RISPA Track Suits can be ordered at the studio or online.

Ballet: Black leotard • Pink soft split-sole ballet shoes • Pink Dance Revolution tights (Junior Company - without seams, Intermediate & Senior - seamed) • Pointe Shoes w/elastic and ribbons • Hair must be in a classic bun at all times • Must bring note and pen to each class • Earrings & Choker Necklace ($20 fee made payable to RISPA)

Male Dancers: Black t-shirt • Black jazz pants • Black jazz/ballet/tap shoes • Black tights

Performance Requirements:

Hair must be in a classic bun (unless stated otherwise by teacher)

Females must have nude leotards

Make-Up:

Base, Powder, Blusher and Eye Shadow (Blue or purple)

Dark skins may wear brown & golds

False Eyelashes for Intermediate & Senior Dancers

Lipstick: Red (Maybelline E190 Royal Red)

Black eyeliner

Costumes: Company costumes are included in the Company fees. There will be a $15 cleaning fee for each company production. Company members who attend open classes will still have to pay the costume fee for the Spring Recital costumes, which they will then own.

Open Classes: Company members are encourage to take open classes which are included in the Company tuition. Please see Ms. Georgina for recommendation.

Field Trips: This year, the Company will attend at least one field trip to a performing arts production. More details to come.

Company Parent Agreement

Carefully read and be sure that you understand this Company Information Packet which includes the policies and requirements for RISPA Company.

Volunteer: All Company parents must complete 10 volunteer hours per season. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to: assisting with costumes, assisting with the Company Holiday Show (FOH, BOH, Concessions, Tickets, Stage Hands, Props, Loading and Unloading Props/Sets, etc.), and becoming a Head Company Parent to assist with communication to all of the parents in  your Company.

Holiday Show

Ticket Presales: Each Company Member is required to sell a minimum of 10 tickets for the Annual Holiday Show at $12.50 each. The monies are due November 1st. Upon receiving the pre-payment, you will be issued tickets that you can then sell or give to family and friends.

Holiday Show Ad: Each Company Member is responsible for selling one personal/business ad for the Holiday Show Program starting at $25.

Holiday Show Raffle: Each year the Company sponsors a raffle and the parents are asked for donation to their Company raffle. More details to come.

Absences/Withdrawl: If a student wishes to withdraw from the Company and/or RISPA written notice must be provided. ALL tution and Company fees are non-refundable and the terms of the tuition and fee agreement must be met as outlined herein.

Photography, Videography, Likeness and Bio Release

 

This Photography, Videography, Likeness and Bio Release Agreement(AGREEMENT) shall be effective as of the March 10, 2009, by and between RISPA, The Performing Arts School(RISPA), and ___________________________ (PARTY).

The PARTY gives RISPA permission and rights to publish any video, photography, likeness or Bio of the PARTY's for the  sole and specific purposes of publication on RISPA's websites and/or any marketing materials, in any form, used in the promotion and advancement of RISPA's organization, their products and services.

The PARTY, by giving consent, hereby releases and holds harmless RISPA, their employees, agents, successors and designees from any and all responsibility or liability. The PARTY understands that in the event any video, photography, likeness or bio of the PARTY is used by RISPA, no compensation will be due or payable to the PARTY at time.

Any and all video, photography, likeness or bio of the PARTY will become the sole and absolute property of RISPA and can be used for the purposes set forth in the AGREEMENT.

The PARTY further understands and agrees that RISPA has full and direct authority to choose and select which video, photography, likeness or Bio it chooses to use or place on its website or in any form of marketing materials or promotions, electronic or printed.

The PARTY has read the AGREEMENT and understands and agrees to the terms herein.
