RISPA's student teachers are integral to our programs. They assist our professional teachers conduct their classes. They are accomplished and genuine in the love of their craft. Each student teacher brings unparalleled and unique skills to our programs.

Maya McClain

Maya is a Senior at Cambridge High School. She has been a company member at RISPA for 10 years, and is proud to be a member of their tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theater, modern, and voice companies.  Maya has been a part of many RISPA theatrical productions like "Leader of the Pack" and "Cats".  Maya has also participated in Access Broadway for multiple years, where she had won many awards for solos and group numbers. Last summer, Maya had the pleasure of attending the Debbie Allen Dance Academy Summer Intensive where she trained under Mrs. Allen's instructors in styles such as tap, hip hop, modern, jazz, ballet, African, and Dunham. She has been assisting with multiple RISPA classes for three years now, and she is very excited to be able to teach and get to know all of the other wonderful company members.

Skyler Cromrie

Skyler is a Senior at Saint John Bosco Academy. She has danced at RISPA for over seven years participating in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, tap, voice, and Musical Theatre. Skyler has truly enjoyed performing in RISPA company shows, as well as in “Seussical the Musical”, and “Cats” at both the Louchiey Theatre and The Cumming Playhouse. This past summer Skyler also took part in “The Leader of the Pack” at The Cumming Playhouse. Skyler has placed at many Access Broadway competitions in group performances, solos, duets, and trios. For the past several years Skyler has volunteered to help with summer camps being a counselor and has also been picked to be a company captain. She is excited to be able to share her talents with others as she becomes a student teacher and hopes her passion will let others find happiness and joy while singing and dancing.

Lara Strydom

Lara  is 18 years old and is a teacher assistant for the Saturday stagecoach class. Lara has been dancing and acting at Rispa since the age of 10, and has enjoyed every second of it. She is currently a member of  Senior Hip Hop, Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theater company. Apart, from dance Lara is also an active member of her drama department at Alpharetta High School were she has performed in  "Legally Blonde," "The Brothers Grimm Spectacularthon," "The Audition," and "It’s a Small World." She is also is an active member of her school’s speech team for competitive acting where she has attended nationals as the Georgia representative two years in a row. Lara has competed at Access Broadway multiple times, and has attended nationals twice. Lara has performed multiple acting solos at these competitions, along with a few dance solos.  Next year, Lara plans on majoring in journalism in college with a minor in photography, but still hopes to keep the arts in her life.

 

Julie Hardy

Julie is 17 and a junior at Cambridge High Schoo. She has danced at RISPA for nine years and is a proud Senior Company Member of jazz, tap, musical theatre, modern, and lyrical. She has performed in RISPA Theatrical Productions such as "Cats" and "Dear Edwina" and has also been featured in other productions, such as "the Wizard of Oz," starring as Dorothy. Julie has placed at many Access Broadway competitions in group dances, duets, and solos. She has modeled for America's Mart and other companies. Julie has volunteered as a camp counselor at RISPA and has been a Company Captain for many years. She has performed at various NBA Hawks halftime shows and has also done film work for companies, such as Practice Happy. Julie is proud to be sharing her love of dance as a student teacher.

Grace Van Houten

Grace is 16 and a junior at Cambridge High School. This is her sixth year at RISPA where she is a member of Senior Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre companies. She has won multiple competition awards at NYCDA, Adrenaline, and Access Broadway. Grace is proud to have been chosen to receive the 2016 scholarship for Atlanta Dance Experience and has also attended several other widely-known intensives such as Joffrey Ballet, Jessica King’s SYTYCD Intensive, and The Columbia City Jazz Intensive where she is honored to have learned from people she is inspired by such as Teddy Forance, Nick Lazzarini, Kate Harpootlian, and Sonya Tayeh. Grace feels beyond lucky to be able to have taken master classes with some amazing people such as Lonnie Davis and Tracie Stanchfield. Grace loves to dance at RISPA and enjoys studying the art of dance and choreography. She is blessed to work with her hard-working students by offering private lessons and assisting with open classes at RISPA. Grace is most excited to help young dancers explore and spread their passion for dance.

Julia Reilly


Julia has been a RISPA company member for more than eight years, participating in ballet, lyrical, modern, hip hop, jazz, tap, voice, and musical theater. To build on her dance experience, she has also attended the Debbie Allen Dance Academy summer intensive program and performed lead roles in numerous theater productions. Currently, Julia is a Rivers Academy high school student and working actor represented locally by Houghton Talent and LA management.  Her recent professional projects include starring feature film roles as well as national voiceover and commercial bookings.  Julia also continues acting, vocal, and guitar training.  One of her fondest memories is winning the National Miss Access Broadway title. She enjoys not only being a company member, but is also excited to be teaching several classes.  Julia desires to help other performers in their pursuits to realize their life passions and find joy in music and dance.

Lexi Skinner

Lexi is a sophomore at Cambridge high school and has been a member of the RISPA company for the past 9 years. She is currently a member of the Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Voice, Lyrical, and Modern companies, takes private voice and guitar lessons, and will be assistant teaching classes this year as well. Lexi has also participated in the Access Broadway competition since she was 7 years old and has won various high score awards there. Lexi has preformed professionally in Annie and The King and I at the Fox Theatre, as well as in CATS and Leader of the Pack at the Cumming Playhouse. She has also performed locally in Dear Edwina, Seussical the Musical, Shrek the Musical, and CATS at the Louchiey Theater. Lexi is a member of the Cambridge High School dance team, and is a part of Cambridge's yearbook staff. She is very excited to see what the 2016-2017 dance season has to offer!!


 

Amanda McCrave

Amanda is 15 years old and attends West Forsyth High School. She has been a RISPA company member for five years and have loved every minute of it! Currently, she is in Senior Tap, Modern, and Musical Theater companies. This past year, Amanda got the opportunity to be in the RISPA show “CATS" at the Cumming Playhouse, and had an amazing time performing on stage with her friends. This will be her second year teaching and she loves seeing how unique and talented every student is.

 

Sia Storm Baxter

Sia is an 8th grade homeschooler from Canton, Georgia. She has been dancing competitively for seven years and this will be her third year as a RISPA company member. Sia’s companies include Acting, Musical Theater, Jazz, Modern, Acro as well as taking private voice and piano lessons. Sia also has performed locally at Cumming Playhouse in the RISPA production of “CATS”. She is excited to be an assistant teacher this year at RISPA and cannot wait to see what this year has to offer.
