Mohankumar

Varshita Mohankumar is a rising senior at Denmark High School and is from Atlanta, Georgia. She joined Rispa in 2022 by beginning her dance training in hip-hop at the age of fourteen. After finding her passion in dance, Varshita became more involved and began pursuing other styles such as: jazz, contemporary, and musical theatre styles. 

Varshita is currently a member of the Varsity Dance Team at Denmark High School where her team won second place at State in 2023 and she also placed in the top ten for her hip hop solo at their regional competitions. Varshita was not only given the opportunity to dance at the Atlanta Hawks game during halftime, but also performed at the regional and national Access Broadway competitions in which she was awarded Platinum in six of her dance numbers, as well as obtained high score placements. She was given the opportunity to perform for two consecutive years at a youth leadership conference, Orange, where she was able to showcase her abilities in front of thousands. 

Varshita graduated from Atlanta Tamil School after 13 years of attendance, mastering proficiency in the oldest language to exist, Tamil. She passed the Seal Of Biliteracy Exam in which she earned an award for fluent proficiency and communication. During the year of 2023, Varshita worked at Code Ninjas, assisting in teaching children of all ages how to program in different languages and learn robotics. Varshita wishes to attend the Georgia institute of technology or University of Georgia in which she would like to major in Biotechnology and minor in psychology. After graduation, she wishes to travel to South Korea or Paris with her family. Varshita’s greatest wish is to become a professional dancer, before building her own dance studio and spreading her knowledge and skills.
